QASSIM 1 IPP

OVERVIEW

Qassim-1 Independent Power Project with a capacity of 1,800 MW is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine IPP that is developed by ACWA Power in Al-Qassim region of Saudi Arabia.

ACWA Power and the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) have signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Development, Financing, Build, Own and Operate of a 1,800 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine plant.

Saudi Power Procurement Company acting as the sole off-taker for this project. In addition to ACWA Power, the shareholders include the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), which holds a 40% share, and Haji Abdullah Alireza & Co. LTD (HAACO), which holds a 20% share.
