Zarqa IPP

OVERVIEW

The ACWA Power Zarqa Power Plant is a combined cycle plant with a net generation capacity of 485 MW. The site is located approximately 30 km northeast of the capital Amman. The site is located within the Zarqa Industrial area and is situated about 560 m above sea level.

The plant has a configuration of 3 + 3 + 1.  It comprises of three GE Frame-9 PG9171 (E) 50 Hz Gas turbines with DLN burners for dual fuel capability, three vertical dual pressure heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) with bypass stacks from NEM Energy BV and one MTD 40 CA steam turbine generator (STG) from Doosan Skoda Power exhausting into an air-cooled condenser. The power plant is a modern, well proven, safe, and economically attractive in running cost while offering a high availability, flexibility, and efficiency. The Plant is fully automated and require minimum operator intervention for normal operation and start-up.
