ACWA POWER CONCLUDES ITS PRESENCE AT THE WORLD FUTURE ENERGY SUMMIT

January 25, 2018: ACWA Power, a leading developer of power projects spanning Morocco to Vietnam, concluded its participation at the World Future Energy Summit, which took place at the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
Over the course of four days, ACWA Power made a number of global announcements including the adoption of “Solar Coin”; a global reward program for solar power generation and a blockchain-based digital asset and crypto currency designed to accelerate the transition to clean energy technology. Additionally, Dr. Andrea Lovato, Executive Director of Business Development at ACWA Power, hosted a workshop covering opportunities for low-cost renewables in the MENA region.
During the exhibition, ACWA Power also awarded an EPC contract to China’s Chint Group for three solar photovoltaic power plants at Benban, Egypt within the Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) program. The total project value with the EPC contract for the three projects amounted to approximately US$190 million, with a total production capacity of 165.5 megawatts (MW).
The company also announced the launch of a unique pilot project for centralised control and monitoring using Huawei’s FusionSolar solution, which aims to enhance management, control and monitoring of stations. The FusionSolar system, which is dedicated to the centralised control and monitoring of photovoltaic power plants, helps increase operational efficiency using better technologies. This system also allows solar power plant operators to remotely monitor performance and control, lowering the cost of operations and maintenance, and reducing power loss from the photovoltaic power plant.
