Leadership Transition Announcement

Dear Stakeholders, 

On behalf of the Acwa Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Samir J. Serhan becomes Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective March 1, 2026. 

This leadership transition is part of Acwa’s structured succession planning process, overseen by the company’s Board Nomination and Remuneration Committee. In line with the natural progression of executive leadership terms and our disciplined governance framework, the Board and Marco Arcelli have agreed to implement the planned succession process to ensure continuity and stability.  

This step reflects the institutional strength Acwa has built and follows a period of exceptional growth during Marco’s tenure. During this time our portfolio has doubled, our global footprint has expanded, our operational excellence has improved, and our financial strength and market confidence have grown. He will continue to serve the company in an advisory capacity to ensure continuity and a smooth transition. 

Dr. Samir joined Acwa last year as President of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. Over the past six months, he has worked closely with the leadership team and is fully prepared to assume this new responsibility. He brings more than three decades of global leadership experience across large-scale industrial and infrastructure organizations, with a strong track record in driving operational transformation, strengthening institutional capability, and delivering profitable growth in complex, capital-intensive environments. Since joining Acwa, he has been actively advancing our strategic priorities in the Kingdom and across the region, reinforcing execution rigor and stakeholder alignment. His global leadership experience positions the company well for its next chapter of sustained growth and value creation.
