Hassyan IWP
Phase 1 of the Hassyan Sea Water Desalination Project, with a total capacity of 180 Million Imperial Gallons per Day (MIGD) using advanced Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) technology. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) signed a 30-year water purchase agreement with Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power for this phase. The project is part of DEWA’s plan to increase its water desalination capacity from 490 MIGD at present to 730 MIGD by 2030. Located next to the Hassyan Energy power plant, the facility includes key infrastructure such as seawater intake and outfall systems, electrical facilities, and potable water storage.
